Hear here, proof of Jaco in '83/'84, as I share with you
that which is the keynote of what Jaco means to me.
I melt every single time I hear it..
JULY 25, 2005: ALBERT MANGELSDORFF & JACO
One of Jaco's most favorite, and important times in his career
was his recording with Albert Mangelsdorff in 1976. he loved
turning people on to the Trilogue, and often spoke about how
nervous he was doing this performance, a humbling experience.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Mangelsdorff, sir.

MARCH 16, 2005: "GOSPEL FOR JFP III" REVIEW
"This uplifting proclamation of Jaco Pastorius' musical doctrine features
a modernized viewpoint consisting of Bop induced piano jazz; thrusting,
bass-heavy funk and jazz-fusion spiced up with a taste of the Caribbean
and South America and much more. With this release, Jaco's Gospel is
preached by over 60 world class musicians resulting in a truly,
globalized perspective of his existing legacy. More importantly,
the various artists' extract the bassist's inherent compositional
attributes, only to reshape rhythms and melodies into a nouveau
perspective. Hence, a prudent tribute that stands on its own...
definitely the best Jaco tribute heard to date."

February 24, 2005: PAINTING BY JACO
This painting, once owned by Peter Erskine's father, Dr. Fred Erskine,
was sold today via an eBay auction. It is the only known painting done by
Jaco on canvas, using acrylics. Jaco signed it on the front, and back.
Though I don't know who the seller is, I do know of the buyer's love for Jaco, so it is now in safe hands, and in a good home..AIN'T THIS GRAND?!

November 1, 2004: REST IN PEACE, JACK
This day we say farewell to Jaco's Dad, John Francis Pastorius II aka Jack.
Jack Pastorius lived/loved music. Jack played drums
standing up, simultaneously singing, and telling jokes.
To Jaco there was no better singer, he adored his Dad.
Because of his father, Jaco initially played drums,
before "accidentally" discovering the bass.
They both loved playing frisbee in the park.
Hear Jack sing:
One Of Those Things
Watch What Happnes
