Paul Horn Muller with his daughter Anya holding Jaco's mini "fender".
During a 78/79 tour, a fan came backstage and showed Jaco this little bass he built.
Jaco had to have it and offered to buy it from this gifted young man.
At first he didn't want to give it up, but Jaco swayed him.
The miniature bass had strings, a jack, and working tuners.
Jaco played it that night during his solo, and other nights which followed....

Here is the event in the words of this talented maker himself:

Dear Ingrid:

My name is Roland Ledesma (AKA- Ledo Ledesma).

I met you and Jaco during his 1978-79 tour in Omaha Nebraska.
My original intentions at the time were to meet Jaco and have him autograph
the backside of the mini Fender. Instead he insisted on only buying the bass
along with its soft vinyl gig bag, cord and strap. Jaco asked me to name my price
and I replied "I guess three hundred and fifty dollars." You then got the money
out of your purse and paid me directly. Meeting the two of you and knowing my bass
went to my bass player idol, made it one of the greatest moments in my life.

I have also included (as attachments) a newspaper article showing me and
the mini fender at the time when I built it. Also included are recent pictures
of my latest mini bass. In one of the pictures I have Francis Rocco Prestia
(bass player for Tower Of Power) holding the bass.
